Here at North Country Guides, we are delighted to introduce our conservation and bushcraft residential experience for 2012. If you are looking for a Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme Residential, and would like to use the opportunity to do something both meaningful and fun, join one of our woodland conservation weeks.As an Approved Activity Provider for the Expedition section of The Award, we have extended our experiences to include the Residential element.
Based in Swaledale, near Richmond in North Yorkshire, you will be involved in real country skills, with the opportunity to gain wilderness survival skills at the same time!
Sixth Form off to a flying start!
What better way to begin a new term in sixth form than to get everyone into the great outdoors and having fun.
The Read School launched it's new term with a three day multi- activity residential in The Lake District.
Forty students and staff joined us for a fun filled program of orienteering, abseiling, climbing, canoeing and kayaking.
Students competed in teams and scored points for completing the activities, set on and around Derwentwater near Keswick.
New for 2013 - Wilderness Finland
We are pleased to announce that we will be offering this exciting new trip for February and March 2013.
Join us on a Reindeer Safari through the forests and hills of Finnish Lapland! This trip is based in the Arctic Circle - Land of The Northern Lights - and includes snow shoe treks, cross country skiing, ice hole fishing and driving your own sled and Reindeer team across frozen lakes to a traditional hut in the forest with roaring log fires.
