Duke of Edinburgh Award Gold Residentials...

Looking for a residential experience with a difference? Why not try our Gold Award Residential in the valley of Swaledale in North Yorkshire.

Situated within easy traveling distance of East Coast Railway Network, Swaledale stretches 25 miles from the traditional market town of Richmond to the wild Pennine moors at the valley head.

The valley contains several large areas of natural woodland that are managed by local agencies that include The National Trust.

We also use sites in nearby Weardale and Teesdale, which allow us to always have a project in progress.

Our five day, four night residentials, are set in this very beautiful and historic landscape.

A blend of conservation work and Bushcraft skills, working in this delightful area of Northern England.

As part of your residential experience you will be working as part of a team trying your hand at country skills such as woodland management and drystone walling.

Part of each day will include a session on wilderness survival skills taught by expert Instructors.

You will have the opportunity to learn the skills needed to create a natural shelter in woodland, learn how to make fire, create implements from natural materials and cook over an open fire.

Shared bunkhouse accommodation in great locations on working farms, kitchen, toilet and showers on site, all meals included.
